Timothy Flohr

Tim Flohr is an Associate Professor at the University of Memphis and a published author with more than 25 years of leadership experience in the hospitality industry. In 2025, he was awarded the Distinguished Teaching Award at the University of Memphis, a university-wide honor recognizing the top four professors across the institution. He is currently completing his doctorate in Higher and Adult Education, with an expected completion date of December 2026. He previously served as Internship Coordinator at the Kemmons Wilson School, where he worked closely with industry leaders to expand experiential learning opportunities, and as the Founding Program Director of the Kemmons Wilson Culinary Institute, one of the largest culinary arts schools in the Mid-South. Throughout his academic career, Tim has focused on preparing students for real-world success through applied learning, industry partnership, and professional readiness.

In addition to his academic role, Tim is the Co-Founder and Managing Partner of Hospitality Internships and the Hospitality Nexus, a global, year-round ecosystem connecting students, educators, employers, and industry partners through education, career opportunity, and real human connection. What began as Hospitality Internships has evolved into the Hospitality Nexus, aligning academia and industry around hands-on learning, workforce development, and long-term talent pipelines. Hospitality Internships and the Hospitality Nexus partner with global organizations, hospitality, tourism, and culinary arts schools, and industry associations to ensure students gain meaningful, real-world experience while employers access prepared, career-ready talent. Tim holds an MBA along with PMP, CFBE, and SHRM-CP credentials, reinforcing his expertise in management, project leadership, and workforce development.
